Mansell Wins Contract to Build Siemens’ Renewable Energy Engineering Centre (UK)

Mansell has been awarded a contract to build the Renewable Energy Engineering Centre in Didsbury, Manchester for Siemens.

The two-storey design and build project will comprise two laboratory areas and an office area for engineering staff.

Primary purpose of the building is to establish a test and simulation centre for high voltage DC interconnectors required to connect offshore wind power generation to the mainland network.

Siemens hopes that the centre will serve as a catalyst for the renewable technology development in the region and will create a flagship for sustainable technology in the Manchester and northwest region.

Work is due to start on site this month and complete in March 2012.
