Energinet Selects A2SEA for Anholt Wind Farm (Denmark)

Energinet, Danish national transmission system operator for electricity and natural gas company, has recently signed contract with A2SEA  regarding offshore transformers installation.

As part of establishing the Anholt offshore wind farm, Energinet  must supply an offshore transformer platform to collect electrical energy from the offshore wind farm, transform it to another voltage level and bring it ashore.

This notice covers offshore installation of:

  • 3 x 170 mT transformers following installation of the platform jacket and topside to reduce the weight during sea transport and lifting;
  • 1 x transformer platform, 1x foundation jacket and 8 x foundation piles.

The offshore transformer station is to be installed in the Kattegat south west of the island Anholt during the spring of 2012, at water depth of approximately 17m
