The Netherlands: Dong Energy Renewables at Offshore Wind Installation and Maintenance Conference Rotterdam

Lars Thaaning Pedersen, Senior Director, Head of Operations at Dong Energy Renewables is one of the key note speakers at the conference Offshore Wind Installation and Maintenance 2011. Pedersen will present his views on the economic outlook for the offshore wind energy industry.

The second edition of Offshore Wind Installation and Maintenance, organized by Navingo BV, will take place on May 26th 2011 at the World Trade Center Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Other invited speakers include representatives of Alstom, TenneT and the European Commission.

Dong Energy is the largest power producer in Denmark with a market share of 49% for electricity production. In the United Kingdom Dong Energy operates the Barrow and Burbo Bank offshore wind parks and plans to construct the Walney Island wind parks in the Irish Sea. Key note speaker Lars Thaaning Pedersen heads Dong’s Renewables Operations: a large functional unit responsible for on- and offshore windfarms and power sales across Northern Europe.

The conference Offshore Wind Installation and Maintenance 2011, again combined with an exhibition zone for company and product presentations, is the only event in The Netherlands to focus solely on installation and maintenance. Conference sessions will zoom in on the opportunities and the challenges in this growth market for utilities companies, development companies, offshore suppliers and service providers, and other stakeholders in the sector. The 2011 conference will pay special attention to the offshore electricity grid and financing of wind parks. Last year, over 270 delegates on a senior level across the entire offshore wind value chain participated.
