FibreMax has launched a comprehensive range of global supply chain solutions tailored to the needs of floating offshore wind technologies.

Established in 2004 as SmartRigging, FibreMax has emerged as a trailblazer in the field of lightweight precision cables. Evolving from a focus on yacht rigging, we transitioned to industrial applications and founded FibreMax in 2009.

FibreMax’ s growth has been marked by collaborations with industry leaders such as Teijin Aramid and Avient Dyneema. Demonstrating FibreMax’ s commitment to innovation, they secured numerous patents and certifications, showcasing their advancements in machinery, products, and production processes. Notably, in 2020, FibreMax achieved a world record with the production of the strongest aramid cable (17.019 kN).

FibreMax specializes in crafting lightweight precision cables using our proprietary endless winding technology. This automated process involves continuous winding of parallel fibre strands around end fittings until reaching the desired cable strength or EA (Effective Area). The custom designed and built endless winding robot (EWR) computes the fibres and loops needed for each cable. This meticulous process yields cables with exceptional break load, required stiffness and compact diameters. The process ensures high repeatability, guaranteeing precision in every cable FibreMax produce.

The uniqueness lies in versatility – FibreMax can create cables from various fibres, tailored to specific needs. The FibreMax engineers collaborate with the customer to determine the most suitable fibre for the application. FibreMax offers a diverse range of fibres including various Aramid grades manufactured by Teijin Aramid, Dyneema DM20 HMPE, Carbon, and PBO. This flexibility empowers FibreMax to excel in complex projects that demand premium materials, engineering finesse, comprehensive technical support, and availability.

FibreMax often develops new solutions for existing industries using their experience with high-performance fibres to solve these projects and challenges. FibreMax recently introduced their newest additional solution; Parallel Wound Cables made with Polyester. This has been presented by their new brand name Poly-Max.

The array of solutions provided by FibreMax is broad, besides the unprecedented technology covering ample production capacity. Via existing land-based facilities, which can be replicated in additional, temporary (or permanent) global production facilities, including local workforce, has now been expanded with the possibility of floating production units., FibreMax underscores its dedication to the motto “Ready to deliver,” offering project developers the tools to fulfil their global local content requirements.
