The remaining 106 foundations were installed in the second campaign which started this Spring.

The monopile foundations without transition pieces were transported from Sif’s yard on the Maasvlakte and installed at the site some 20 kilometres off the Dutch province of Zuid-Holland by the heavy-lift vessel Seaway Strashnov.

”A big achievement by the project team, our contractors – Seaway Heavy Lifting & SIF – and all other parties involved. Going from installing 34 foundations in the 2021 summer campaign, to installing 106 foundation in 2022, is a huge testament to the team,” Mary Carol Anderson, foundation installation manager, said.

Hollandse Kust Zuid, the world’s first subsidy-free offshore wind farm and soon to be the world’s largest operating offshore wind farm, comprises 140 Siemens Gamesa 11.0-200 DD wind turbines scheduled to be installed by March 2023.

The wind farm generated first power in early August.
