SLPE signed a contract earlier this year with Iemants, a subsidiary of Smulders, who, in a joint venture with ENGIE, will deliver this offshore substation as a complete turn-key solution for the Dutch transmission system operator TenneT.

The jacket structure will be approximately 48 metres high and weigh in the region of 2,200 tonnes.

It will be installed in 28 metre water depth to support a topside of approximately 4,000 tonnes.

”We have been working closely with the Smulders team in Belgium to successfully deliver the detailed design of the Hollandse Kust (noord) offshore substation jacket and foundations over the last year,” Melvin Lau, Senior Engineer at SLPE.

”We are excited to be building on our relationship and synergy with Smulders, and look forward to achieving similar success for the Hollandse Kust (west Alpha) project.”

The Hollandse Kust (west Alpha) offshore substation is scheduled to be commissioned in 2024.
