Under a four-year Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contract, which has a one-year extension option, Van Oord-owned MPI Offshore will provide jack-up and associated lifting services for main component exchanges across Vattenfall’s portfolio of offshore wind farms.

Offshore installation vessel MPI Resolution will be the main vessel executing the works.

MPI Offshore has been delivering O&M services across Vattenfall’s entire offshore wind farm portfolio in Europe for several years now. The developer has ten offshore wind farms in Europe, located in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK.

During Van Oord’s contract period, Vattenfall’s offshore portfolio will be extended to 622 turbines with a combined capacity of 2.6 GW.

“This award builds upon what is already an excellent relationship between Vattenfall and Van Oord and fits right in with our strategic views of the market. We look forward to continuing to provide the level of service that Vattenfall have come to expect”, said Arnoud Kuis, Managing Director Van Oord Offshore Wind.
