Euskalforging to Deliver Flanges for Hollandse Kust Zuid 1-4 Foundations

Euskalforging has been awarded a contract for foundation flanges for offshore wind farms at all four Hollandse Kust Zuid sites.

Under the contract, euskalforging will produce and deliver a total of 140 flanges for the TP-less foundations that will support the wind turbines of the wind farms being developed by Vattenfall.

The flange supplier has been so far involved in numerous offshore wind projects across Europe, including the Aberdeen Bay, Gwynt y Mor and East Anglia One offshore wind farms in the UK, and Hohe See and Albatros projects in Germany.

The 140 monopile foundations at Hollandse Kust Zuid will not have transition pieces (TPs), with the work platforms and ladders to be attached directly to them.

According to Vattenfall, this will minimise the project costs for the four wind farms to be installed off the Dutch coast, which will have a total installed capacity of 1.5 GW, once built.

At the beginning of November, Sif, the Dutch offshore foundations manufacturer, reported that it was fine-tuning its production lines for the Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind project, with the production of the TP-less monopile foundations scheduled to start by the end of this year.
