Under the contract, the Korean cable manufacturer will supply 130km of submarine cable for the project located in Miaoli County, west Taiwan, by 2021.

To remind, Jan De Nul is responsible for the design, supply and installation of subsea cables at the Formosa 2 project offshore Miaoli, as well as the design, fabrication and installation of the jacket foundations.

Construction works on the 376MW wind farm are planned to start next year, with commissioning scheduled for the end of 2021.

Besides this latest contract, LS Cable & System received two submarine cable orders in Taiwan this year, which include deals for the Yunlin and Changhua 1 and 2a offshore wind farms. The three contracts are worth KRW 200 billion (some EUR 152 million).
