Earlier this month, Hywind Scotland started delivering electricity to the Scottish grid.

The wind farm comprises five Siemens Gamesa 6MW turbines mounted on SPAR-type floating foundations.

In consultation with Siemens, Orga delivered a smart obstruction light system that includes 10 medium intensity obstruction lights and an intensity control system meeting the UK Civil Aviation standards.

The 30MW wind farm, operated by Statoil in partnership with Masdar, is located 25 kilometers offshore Peterhead in Aberdeenshire, and will power approximately 20,000 households.

The wind farm’s onshore operations and maintenance base is located in Peterhead, while the operations centre is located in Great Yarmouth.
