In December 2014, the project was listed in the National Offshore Wind Power Project Development and Construction Program (2014-2016) and, as such, received the authorisation from the National Energy Bureau. However, the project still needed to be approved by local authorities.

The Pingtan offshore wind farm could comprise up to 60 turbines of a 5MW class, installed some 10km from the coast in water depths of up to 10m.

In September, the company’s 152MW Rudong offshore wind farm became fully operational.

Two months earlier, the company won a tender for a 24MW floating wind project in the Groix area in Brittany, France, as part of a consortium with Eolfi.
