SRC, which already provided support to E.ON’s Humber Gateway project, will provide CDM advisors and safety managers during the construction of the wind farm.

Managing director of Steel River Consultants, Graham Tyerman said: “We have developed a strong working relationship with E.ON over the past years. The award of this contract not only strengthens this relationship, but also strengthens Steel River as a leading player in the supply of health and safety management to the renewables industry.”

Once complete, the Rampion offshore wind farm will comprise 116 turbines and will have a generating capacity of 400MW – enough to power up to 290,000 homes. The project is expected to be completed in 2018.

The the £1.3bn project, located 13km off the coast of Brighton, is owned by E.ON, the UK Green Investment Bank and Canadian energy company Enbridge.
