Sabella Preparing for D10 Tidal Turbine Deployment

The French tidal energy developer, Sabella, is making final preparations for the deployment of its 1 MW D10 turbine.

Weather permitting, the company plans to utilise a Combi Lift’s cargo ship for the installation of the tidal turbine on June 25, in the Fromveur Passage, off Ushant Island, France.

The boarding operation is scheduled for Sunday and is expected to last throughout the day.  The vessel will leave Brest harbour on Wednesday to position itself in the Fromveur Passage where it will deploy the device.

Once the boat leaves the area, Sabella’s D10 tidal turbine will start feeding the electricity to the Ushant island’s grid.
