Offshore Wind Turbine Support Structures to Be Discussed at LORC Centre

Cutting costs of offshore wind energy through innovation, and smarter and cheaper production and installation of offshore wind turbine substructures are the common goals for a whole host of international experts who will be gathering on 12 September at LORC Testing Centre.

Offshore Wind Turbine Support Structures to Be Discusses at LORC Centre

Keynote lecturers from Siemens Wind Power, Force Technology and DONG Energy will focus on future support structure concepts and experts will share their views on cost reduction through innovation. Jesper Møller, Head of Technology at Siemens Wind Power, will share Siemens’ view on future offshore foundations. Henning Arnøy, CEO, FORCE Technology Norway, will speak about the development of floating support structures for offshore turbines. Finally, Jonas Wittrup-Jensen, Project Manager at DONG Energy A/S, will explain the suction bucket jacket concept and prototype verification.

LORC Component and Substructure Testing, a test centre that LORC is currently establishing in cooperation with industrial partner FORCE Technology, will host the event, during which numerous experts from industry, consultancy and academia will present their innovative work within the three themes of the day: cost reduction, wave loads and production of offshore support structures.
