Lobbying for Free Wind Farm Passage in Netherlands

In an effort to adjust the current wind farm regulations regarding the navigation of small vessels, a meeting took place in early July at Rijkswaterstaat with all stakeholders.

Among others, the stakeholders included energy companies and representatives of various user groups.

Conditions under which free passage would be possible in the future have not been made, although there are positive signs.

Custom regulations are possible at the earliest in 2016, until then, the current regulations in force prohibit free passage.

Great Britain, Denmark and Germany allow free passage through the wind farms in the North Sea. Germany has even eased the rules for Baltic1 offshore wind farm free passage between Germany (Rugen) and Denmark.
