China: ZPMC Launches Wind Turbine Installation Platform

On October 20, “Longyuan Zhenhua II” 800-ton jack-up wind power installation platform was launched successfully. It is China’s largest of this kind, and was independently designed and fabricated by ZPMC.

As the company’s 2nd offshore wind power installation engineering vessel, the platform has been up to international standards in terms of design, fabrication and operation efficiency, and plays a significant role in supporting domestic wind power energy development.

“Longyuan Zhenhua II” marks ZPMC’s new breakthrough in the wind power equipment field. Combining functions such as wind turbine transportation, hoisting, piling and installation, with a swing lifting capacity of 800 tons and a maximum operating water depth of 30 meters, the platform first to use the advanced process of single piling can install a wind turbine in seven days, far ahead of the average domestic installation period of 30 days. Also, with advanced piling equipment and a large lifting capacity, the platform has broad market outlook and can carry wind turbines with a maximum power of 6MW.

“Longyuan Zhenhua II” has the core equipment of its deck fully designed and fabricated by ZPMC and owning fully independent intellectual property right.
