China Approves Xiangshui 200MW Offshore Wind Demonstration Project

Xiangshui 200MW Offshore Wind Demonstration Project got approved by National Development and Reform Commission and is expected to start construction at the end of 2013.

The project is located in the outboard sea area to Guan Dong salt field and San Yu salt filed in Jiangsu Province,covering a planning area of 91 sq.km with the investment of 3.5 billion RMB. It is expected to install 67 wind turbines with single unit of 3MW and the total installed capacity is 201 MW. After completion, the annual generation capacity will reach 500 million KW/h.

This project is part of “10-million-kilowatt offshore wind base of Jiangsu Province”. Beside, it is also the preliminary engineering for China Three Gorges Group to realize the strategy of “Offshore Three Gorges”.
