UK: Green World to Host Offshore Wind Conference

UK Green World to Host Offshore Wind Conference

Green World Conferences announced the annual Offshore Wind Conference which will take place on 23-25 April 2014 in London. On 23 April 2014 a one-day conference on financing and insuring offshore wind projects and the Subsea Wind Connection Masterclass will take place in the same location.

The conference dinner will take place on the first evening of the conference (23 April) at 20:00. The evening will start with a networking drinks reception, followed by a three-course dinner, fine wines and plenty of networking. The evening will finish at 23:00.

Conference objective:

The UK government has a challenging target to deliver 15 per cent of energy from renewable sources by 2020. Depletion of fossil fuels, together with increased global demand for energy means there has been an intense focus on wind power as an alternative to traditional fuel sources.

The United Kingdom is already the world leader in offshore wind with 20 wind farms currently in operation. The market lead position is set to continue for the UK with three further projects under construction and nine with planning consent.

Offshore Wind Conference will focus on offshore wind energy market development in Europe and will offer a crucial update on cutting-edge wind turbine, blades, foundation technologies, cabling, new projects, project finance and insurance, grid connection and regulations.

Offshore Wind Conference invites developers, turbine and foundation manufactures, engineering consultants, investors and operators of wind turbines to consider the market environment, current and future offshore wind projects, the financing of these projects, supply chain complexity, and research and development accomplishments.

What current investment and finance options are available on the market? What progress has been made in terms of offshore projects in deeper waters? How is the supply chain going to be organised for upcoming projects? – These questions will be considered at the event.

Offshore Wind Conference participants will gain insight into the progress of current and future offshore projects in Europe. Project developers will speak about the challenges related to their projects and give an update on the status of their projects. Representatives from banks and investment firms will give their insight into the maturity of European offshore projects. Leading wind turbine suppliers will speak about the newest developments in offshore wind turbines.
