First Permanent Offshore Wind Exhibition in Germany Opened on Historic Ship

Official opening of the Offshore Infocenter Rostock (OIR) was held as a part of the dinner reception of the “Wind & Maritim 2013” on Tuesday, 24th April, in front of 150 invited guests from politics and the industry.

This is currently the first permanent exhibition in Germany about offshore wind, set up on a historic ship in Rostock-Schmarl. Under the motto “Wind from the Sea for Clean Energy”, the exhibition offers visitors of all ages a comprehensive insight into the energy on the high seas on 200 m2.

With various exhibits, multimedia presentations, audio-visual shows and models of offshore installations, the exhibition explains varied, but also educational technology of the future of wind power generation on the high seas. In addition, visitors have the opportunity to learn about careers in the offshore wind energy sector. In an appealing way,the exhibition brings the exciting developments and challenges of this technology closer to the visitors.

The visiting time for the Offshore Infocenter Rostock corresponds to that of the traditional ship: from 10 am to 6 pm, from Tuesday to Sunday.
