UK: CWind Recognised for Vessel Performance on London Array OWF
CWind announced that CWind Alliance, a CTruk 20T workboat, has been recognised by Siemens for its outstanding vessel performance on London Array Offshore Wind Farm. The Alliance was the first CWind vessel deployed on London Array Offshore Wind Farm 17 months ago and has completed more than 6000 hours of service there.
Chris Randle Senior Project Manager for Siemens Wind Power in the UK commented on the recognition: “In selecting a vessel for recognition, we reviewed multiple areas in delivery and performance, including HSE performance, cooperation and collaboration with us and our other suppliers, vessel availability over the duration of contract, fuel consumption, vessel capabilities within this complex wind farm location and of course how the crew demonstrated a positive attitude to achieving our goals in Siemens. The CWind Alliance performed to the highest standards in all of these areas and others. This recognition was well earned and is well deserved.”
The Alliance undertook a large variety of tasks for Siemens, including crew transfers, generator refuelling as well as carrying the CWind amphibious vessel Avenger and her fast response crew. CWind Alliance was deployed as part of CWind’s fleet of seven working on London Array. The vessel is skippered by the Harman brothers, who co-own the vessel under CWind’s boat share scheme.
Peter Jorgensen, MD of CWind commented: “We’re delighted with the recognition from Siemens, as it confirms that our combination of fuel-efficient and reliable vessels and skilled and committed teams provides the solutions the offshore wind industry is looking for.”
