The topside for Riffgat offshore transformer substation is lifted on board the Oleg Strashnov yesterday. The barge with the topside arrived last Saturday at the terminal at the Maasvlakte. The vessel is scheduled to sail away today and offshore installation is scheduled for later this week.
The topside will be transported to the Riffgat wind farm, 15 kilometers northwest of the German island of Borkum, where Seaway’s heavy lift vessel ‘Oleg Strashnov’ will install it on the jacket, which was installed in September last year. The 33kV array cable and 155kV export cable were already pulled into the jacket during the past months. The wind turbines will be connected, once the Strukton Hollandia JointVenture has commissioned the substation.
