Denmark: Health and Safety Lawyer to Warn about Offshore Wind Incidents

Steven Brooker, a member of the Health & Safety Lawyers’ Association from Bond Pearce law firm, will speak at this week’s Offshore Wind Health and Safety summit in Copenhagen, where he will touch upon the risks within the complex offshore wind supply chain arrangements and advise on lessons learned from oil and gas sector.

Mr. Brooker believes that it is only a matter of time before a serious incident in offshore wind sector occurs.

As an adviser in the successful prosecutions in the case of Buncefield Oil Depot explosions and fires, he pointed out that the offshore wind industry can implement the lessons learned from that incident, advising better coordination within the supply chain to avoid such danger, the Scotsman writes.

Offshore Wind Health and Safety Summit will be held at Copenhagen’s Marriot Hotel on December 5-6. The conference has a strong focus on overcoming the challenges posed moving further from shore, the sharing of experiences from leading developers and a potent blend of both learning and networking with experienced HSE executives.
