MCT to Take Part in Public Information Day in Kirkwall, UK

Siemens’ Marine Current Turbines (MCT) will be at Kirkwall Town Hall on Thursday (29^th November, 3.00pm to 8.00pm) to share its outline plans for its Brough Ness tidal project. MCT is one of a number of tidal and wave energy developers who will be exhibiting at the event.  

The event,  an opportunity for Orcadians to be updated on the progress with the Pentland Firth & Orkney Waters Marine Energy Park, is supported by a number of organisations including The Crown Estate, Orkney Islands Council, The Highlands Council, Marine Scotland and Highlands & Islands Enterprise.

MCT has an approval for a lease from The Crown Estate to deploy a 100MW tidal farm off Brough Ness, which is off the southern most tip of the Orkney Islands. It plans to issue a scoping report for the project in the early part of next year.
