On Tuesday, the Wind Energy Agency WAB announced that it has changed its name. The network has changed the name from Wind Energy Agency Bremerhaven/ Bremen e.V. to WAB e.V.

In addition, the ten-member board was elected. Members of the Executive Board of the Industry Association are as follows: Gerhard Gerdes (German Wind Guard Ltd.), Thomas Haukje (NW Insurance Brokers Ltd. & Co. KG), Jean Huby (AREVA Traders), Dirk Kassen (WeserWind Offshore Constuction Georgsmarienhütte), Dr. Helmut Klug (GL Garrad Hassan GmbH Germany), Detlef Lindenau (REETEC), Nils Schnorrenberger (BIS Bremerhaven Association for Investment Promotion and Urban Development Ltd.) and Thorsten Schwarz (NSW North German Seekabelwerke).

Dr. Klaus Meier (WPD) was appointed as a CEO, and Norbert Giese (Repower) as his deputy.

“The name change underscores our national approach,” says Dr. Klaus Meier, the new CEO of WAB. The analysis showed that the majority of the members WAB do not come from Bremen and Bremerhaven.

The decision to change name was made in late December but now the register entry has taken effect.

The Wind Energy Agency WAB is the leading business network for wind energy in the Northwest region and nationwide. The association includes more than 350 companies and institutions from all sectors of the wind energy industry, the maritime industry and research.
