E.ON Unveils Rampion Offshore Wind Farm Plans (UK)

Energy company E.ON is presenting its plans for a 700MW offshore wind farm in Albourne.

The Rampion offshore wind farm will be located 13-23km off the Sussex coast upon being installed in water depths of 19 to 50 meters, covering area of 167 square kilometers.

Construction and operation of this wind farm is 100% owned by E.ON Climate & Renewables.

E.ON is considering a range of 100 to 195 wind turbines with the generating capacity of between 3MW and 7MW for the Rampion offshore wind farm.

The company will be holding the community consultations from February 13 to May 6. They are going to hold 12 public exhibitions at coastal venues and along the proposed underground cable route. Visitors will be able to view the plans and images, speak to the project team and complete a consultation questionnaire.

In the next few months, E.ON will install a meteorological mast on the site to measure wind speeds, wave heights, sea currents and record other offshore environmental data.
