Blue Water Shipping Participates in China Wind Power Exhibition

In October, Blue Water Shipping participated in the China Wind Power Exhibition in Beijing – one of the leading trade shows for wind energy in China.

The exhibition has in excess of 600 exhibitors – this year including a record Danish participation of 29 companies, represented at a joint, Danish pavilion organized by the Danish Export association in cooperation with the wind turbine industry.

The joint Danish stand was opened by export ambassador Ritt Bjerregaard, who was beautifully accompanied by Danish majorettes.

Having significant, global expertise in wind turbine transports and logistics, Blue Water Shipping has an own office in Beijing. The exhibition participation was aimed at strengthening and extending our current position in the Asiatic area, which will see large investments in the wind turbine industry in the years to come.

During the exhibition, China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) announced new development plans for wind energy. The aim is that 17 % of the Chinese energy consumption is to be produced by wind turbines through the establishment of a total wind turbine capacity of 1,000 GW. Initially, the focus is on land based wind turbines until 2020. After this time, public funded offshore wind turbine farms will be implemented.
