AMBAU opens fifth plant in Dessau (Germany)

Components for the wind power industry will be produced on a site of 37,300 m² in the future.

Gräfenhainichen/Dessau: the growth of AMBAU GmbH continues. Following the opening of its fourth plant in Cuxhaven at the end of 2008, the management board has decided to incorporate a fifth plant into the AMBAU group, to be located in Dessau.

“This means that we are ideally prepared for the strong growth market in renewable energy with our five efficiently networked plants and associated vertical range of manufacture,” says the managing partner Joachim Görlitz of this strategic step.

The production site based here, only completed in 2008, was on the brink of being sold off by the liquidator, which would have meant the site being closed and the invested resources and planned jobs here being lost. However, this was avoided thanks to a takeover by AMBAU GmbH.

The restructuring measures will be completed by the end of the year. After this, production will be gradually expanded. In the future, components for the wind power industry will be produced at the AMBAU plant in Dessau on a site of 37,300 m², including 16,500 m² of covered production area. As such, the new plant will optimise the company’s value chain and increase production capacity.
