CBI Events organizes Wind Power Leadership China Summit 2010

China’s National Energy Bureau (NEB) and State Oceanic Administration (SOA) jointly promulgated that the Interim Measures on the Administration of Offshore Wind Farm Development will regulate every aspect of the offshore wind farm construction in April 2010.

Meanwhile, NEB issued circulars to the authorities of 11 provinces of Tianjin, Shanghai, Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang Guangdong, Hainan, etc., requiring offshore wind power concession biddings to be reported. It activated the offshore wind power development in China, given that there are only two grid-connected offshore wind farms in China, i.e. Donghai Bridge Wind Farm and Jiangsu Rudong Wind Farm.

With the support of Jiangsu Rudong Energy Administration and IPPF, the 2nd Wind Power Leadership Summit will be attended by Mr. Li Junfeng, Deputy Director of Energy Research Institute of China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Prof. Gu Weidong, Chief Scientist of Wind Power in China’s 973 Program, delegates from Wind Power Executive Committee of IEA, Mr. Brian Smith, Program Director of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s National Wind Technology Center, USA, as well as the elites in wind energy equipment manufacturing, wind farm operators, wind power project management, wind farm planning and service providers, certification authorities, investors, consultancies and so on.

These prominent guests will discuss about a wide range of topics such as government’s increasingly high standards on the quality of wind turbines and the performance of wind power projects, China’s criteria for entry into the wind power industry which is expected to be implemented soon and the possibility of a reshuffle in equipment manufacturing, the market opportunities for the best-in-class companies, improvement on the reliability of wind power equipment, further the development of the wind power industry chain, solutions for the grid connection of wind power, venture capitalists’ perspectives on wind power, investment opportunities in wind power industry, etc.
