Expertise Hub VIDEO: Offshore Wind Progress Calls for Cooperation on Higher Level (Ziton)

With offshore wind moving towards subsidy-free wind farms and setting a new standard for the industry, a more efficient way of utilisation of vessels and a cooperation on a much higher level need to be in place, according to Thorsten Jalk, CEO of Ziton.

Primarily, this involves long-term commitments within the industry that can lead to further cost reduction. “Within our field of the industry, we have now seen a success by making some framework agreements on a three-year basis with our clients, and we can really see that the efficiency is going up and the cost is coming down,” Jalk said.

Watch the Offshore WIND Expertise Hub interview with Thorsten Jalk to learn more about the industry from the perspective of Ziton, formerly known as DBB Jack-up Services, which focuses on offshore wind O&M operations.

The company has entered framework agreements with major offshore wind developers, including DONG Energy and Vattenfall.

For the Fiscal Year 2016, Ziton reported an almost 219% increase in revenue, compared to the revenue recorded a year earlier, driven by increased activity levels and higher utilisation rates for the company’s fleet of specialised jack-up vessels servicing offshore wind farms.
