Owned and developed by RWE, the Kaskasi offshore wind farm is a 342 MW wind project located in the German North Sea.

Construction work will start in the third quarter of 2021 and the project is planned to be fully commissioned by 2022.

Tekmar Energy will supply the wind farm with their patented TekLink ® CPS to protect the export cables as they transition from the seabed through the dynamic zone.

The systems will be manufactured at the company’s facility in the North East of England this year.

Russell Edmondson, Managing Director at Tekmar Energy, said: ”We are delighted to once again be supplying our leading CPS technology to protect a major European offshore wind farm project.”

The Kaskasi offshore wind farm will consist of a total of 38 Siemens Gamesa SG 8.0-167 DD Flex turbines, with each turbine having a capacity of up to 9 MW, installed at the site some 35 kilometres north of the island of Heligoland.
