The start of the mass production was launched at the Mingyang Yangjiang Smart Manufacturing Centre with the roll-out of the first nacelle for the typhoon-resistant turbine at the end of November.

Ming Yang describes the model as ”the world’s largest semi-direct-drive typhoon-resistant offshore wind turbine…”

According to local media, the first unit will be installed on a local offshore wind farm off Yangjiang.

The blades for the turbine will also be produced at Ming Yang’s plant in Yangjiang.

Ming Yang is the third Chinese turbine manufacturer to launch an offshore wind turbine with a double-digit capacity, following the launch of the DEC 10MW model by Dongfang Electric, and the H210-10MW model by HZ Windpower earlier this year.
