The bond is the company’s first and the first international issuance under an EMTN program under Swedish governing law, listed on Nasdaq Stockholm.

The proceeds from the issue are earmarked for projects defined in Vattenfall’s green bond framework, which includes renewable energy and related infrastructure, energy efficiency, electrification of transport and heat, and industrial projects.

“We have seen very strong interest in our first green bond, among European investors. I am happy that so many investors have chosen to participate in our bond offer, and chosen to contribute to our vision of a fossil-free life within one generation,” said Vattenfall’s CFO Anna Borg.

According to Vattenfall, Cicero reviewed the framework and gave its Dark Green raking, which is the highest. Citi, Deutsche Bank, Nordea and SEB acted as joint bookrunners on the bond issue.

The settlement is scheduled to take place on 24 June.
