The charter will commence around 1 March 2018 with a firm period of 130 days, plus up to 130 days extensions in the charterer’s option, Ocean Yield said.

Lewek Connector is an ultra deepwater, multipurpose, flex-lay, DP3 subsea construction vessel.

The 1.2GW Hornsea One offshore wind farm is located some 120 kilometres off the coast of Yorkshire.

The wind farm will comprise up to 174 Siemens 7MW turbines and three offshore substations spread over an area of around 407 square kilometres. The wind farm will also be the first to feature a reactive compensation substation located midway between the wind farm and the onshore connection point.

Once fully commissioned in 2020, Hornsea One will be the largest operating offshore wind farm in the world.
