Bard Offshore 1 has produced more than 2TWh of electricity since the inauguration in 2013, which makes it the first offshore wind farm in Germany to achieve this.
From January to October, the wind farm produced 700 gigawatt hours, while in October alone it produced 100 gigawatt hours – enough to power a medium-sized city like Bonn.
Bard Offshore 1 is located 100 kilometers northwest of Borkum and comprises 80 wind turbines with a total capacity of 400MW.
“This milestone is an important step for us which underlines the efficiency of the Bard Offshore 1 project,” said Jens Hagen, CEO of Ocean Breeze Energy GmbH & Co. KG.
