BOEM Cancels NY Offshore Wind Meetings

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has cancelled four open houses for wind energy development zones offshore New York coast.

Boem said: “In response to concerns raised by the State of New York, and because of the importance of this issue, we want to allow for additional coordination between the state and the federal government.”

At the open house meetings, the state officials planned to share the results of a recently completed visualization study and to provide an input on renewable energy planning efforts in Federal waters on the Outer Continental Shelf offshore New York.
