Kentish Flats Extension Turbine Works on Schedule

Work on a tower, nacelles and blade sections for the Kentish Flats Extension offshore wind farm are on schedule and the parts are due to be installed end of June/July, Vattenfall reported.

The first inspection of the nacelles has been conducted at their manufacturing site in Ringköbing, Denmark.

The first tower has been transported to Esbjerg and the blades are currently being manufactured in Lauchhammer, Germany.

The Kentish Flats Extension will be built on the southern side of the Outer Thames Estuary, immediately adjacent to the Kentish Flats Offshore Wind Farm. The wind farm will have a maximum installed capacity of 49.5MW and will comprise fifteen 3.3 MW turbines.
