Germany Allocates Connection Capacity to Eight Offshore Wind Farms

In its first allocation of connection capacity process for wind farms at sea, the Federal Network Agency (BNA) has reviewed applications for capacity allocation process. 

Eleven applications from operators of wind farms at sea were submitted by October 1, 2014. Eight of them were approved.

Three were rejected because the application was not complete or the wind farm is located in a cluster which has no free connection capacity within the current allocation process.

The following applications are authorized to participate in the allocation process: RIFFGAT for 5.4 MW, Trianel Windpark Borkum for 200 MW, Borkum Riffgrund 1 for 20.4 MW, Borkum Riffgrund 2 for 100.8 MW,OWP Albatros for 316 MW, EnBW Hohe See for 450 MW, Wikinger for 350 MW and Arkona Becken Südost for 385 MW.
