Hamburg Hands Over Torch to HUSUM Wind

After four days of the fair, Schleswig-Holstein has taken over the torch from Hamburg and now invites the wind world to HUSUM Wind from 15 to 18 September 2015. The national trade fair of the German wind industry is expecting over 500 exhibitors and up to 20,000 trade visitors in North Frisia.

Schleswig-Holstein’s minister-president Torsten Albig: “The 2015 fair will clearly show the new focus of HUSUM Wind. The aim is to provide a good and high-quality national trade fair. I am looking forward to it and am convinced that this aim will be achieved.”

At the senate reception in Hamburg’s city hall, energy minister Sigmar Gabriel also acknowledged Husum’s significance for the fair in Hamburg. In North Frisia they had made the delicate little plant so strong that it became interesting for the neighbours, and heralded a reunion next year in Husum.

Peter Becker, managing director of Messe Husum & Congress GmbH & Co. KG emphasised that HUSUM Wind 2015 will be a fair shaped by innovation and technology. “Many exhibitors are already looking forward to Husum, also because the best business dealings are still made in a familiar atmosphere. Husum has been the wind industry’s market place for the last 25 years, making it Germany’s oldest industry event of its kind. And the fact that you can experience wind energy live in the direct vicinity makes the exhibition venue on the North Sea coast even more charming.”

Becker is highly satisfied with the bookings for exhibition space at HUSUM Wind, where a year ahead of the fair the figures are already substantial: “Over 60 percent of the available space has already been allocated”, says the exhibition boss. This positive result is also due to the participation in WindEnergy Hamburg, where Messe Husum & Congress GmbH was represented at two stands. “There was a great demand for brand new information about the 2015 fair, but also for the specially brewed HUSUM Wind Beer. This is reminiscent of the tradition of the industry fair first held in 1989.”

The official 25th anniversary is being celebrated on 14 October 2014. Together with around 500 invited guests from the fields of politics and business Messe Husum & Congress want to celebrate a quarter of a century of HUSUM Wind, and also present the newly published wind chronicle. Guests at the jubilee fest will include Schleswig-Holstein’s minister-president Albig and Hans-Dieter Kettwig, managing director of ENERCON GmbH, Andreas Nauen, chair of Senvion SE and Hermann Albers, president of the German Wind Energy Association.
