UK BMSA Founder Appointed Advisor for EUR 16 Mln Energy Lab

Finbarr (Barry) Mc Sweeney, Founder of BMSA Technology Ltd., has been appointed Special Advisor to University College Cork with regard to the development of the Beaufort Lab.

This €16 million investment project supports Global Maritime and Energy Research is based at the IMERC campus in Ringaskiddy and houses the National Wave Energy Test facility.

Barry chaired the Strategy Board which led to the development of IMERC and the Beaufort Lab. He also designed and implemented the Beaufort Energy Research Awards scheme of the Irish Government.

The registered office of BMSA Technology Ltd is at IMERC. The company works in partnership with another IMERC based company SkyTec Ireland which is Ireland’s leading unmanned aircraft survey company.

Finbarr McSweeney is an Adjunct Professor in the College of Business and Law and lectures on European Institutions and Policies. He is a former Director General at the European Commission.
