UK: Taylor Hopkinson to Manage Next Phase of Catapult’s Recruitment Drive

UK Taylor Hopkinson to Manage Next Phase of Catapult's Recruitment Drive

Taylor Hopkinson Associates has been appointed by the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult to manage all aspects of the recruitment process for technical, programmes and strategy roles for the next phase of their recruitment drive.

The UK currently leads the world in offshore renewable energy and the key challenge today is to stay ahead of competing countries by reducing the localised cost of energy from these projects through investment and collaboration co-ordinated by the ORE Catapult.

Andrew Jamieson, CEO of the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, said “We will be a catalyst for innovation across the sector, facilitating the commercialisation of renewable technology, driving down the cost of low carbon electricity and ultimately realising massive economic benefits to the UK. The appointment of a strong engineering team is critical to this vision, and Taylor Hopkinson brings the knowledge and sector experience to help us do this over the coming months”.

Tom Hopkinson, Managing Director at Taylor Hopkinson Associates said, “Renewable UK recently published their ‘Working for a Green Britain and Northern Ireland’ report stating that 70,000 jobs can be created in the UK renewable sector in the next 10 years. The Catapult will be central to achieving those jobs and wealth creation for the UK economy. To be a part of this transformation in the offshore renewables industry is exactly the type of project that aligns with our business mission to be a catalyst to the industry achieving its potential.”

The growth plans for the ORE Catapult are ambitious and involve attracting over 120 sector, engineering, project management, commercial and strategic experts from renewable energy and aligned market sectors in the next four years.
