Swiber Else Marie Completes Flushing of Anholt OWF Cables

On Tuesday 19 February 2013 at around noon, Swiber Else Marie completed the flushing of the last of a total of 111 cables which connect the 111 wind turbines in the wind farm with Energinet.dk’s offshore substation.

Having worked day and night for seven months, Swiber Else Marie could put a stop to the work on wind turbine positions P27 and P28 at the northernmost part of the wind farm and report ‘job done’. The vessel then headed for Dunkerque in France for a well-earned break.

At several positions, it has not been possible to flush the cable to the required depth due to a hard seabed. At these positions, a protective layer of stones will be laid during the summer of 2013 to secure the required protection of the cables.
