Canadian Pension Fund to Acquire 25 Pct Stake in London Array

A Canadian pension fund Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec is planning to acquire half of Dong Energy’s 50% stake in the London Array offshore wind farm, The Sunday Times reports.

This 25% stake in the world’s largest offshore wind farm would cost the pension fund GBP 500 million.

Besides Dong Energy, E.ON owns 30% and Masdar has a 20% stake in this offshore wind farm.

The London Array Offshore Wind Farm is located more than 20km (12 miles) from the Kent and Essex coasts in the outer Thames Estuary.

The last turbine on this 630MW wind farm was installed in December last year.
