Northern Ireland Announces Subsidy Levels

Last week Northern Ireland announced the subsidy levels intended for renewables.

Support for the onshore wind will be dropped from 1 ROC to 0.9 ROC till 2016/17 with the possibility of further review from 2014/15.

For the offshore wind there will be no change until 2015/16 and 2016/17 when the 2 ROC will be lowered to 1.9 ROC and 1.8 ROC.

Tidal stream and wave energy will be enjoying 5 ROC for the projects up to 30MW after which the support will be dropped to 2 ROC.
