USA: USOWC Announces New Interim Chairman

The US Offshore Wind Collaborative (USOWC) announced Barbara Hill, a current board member and the former head of Clean Power Now, as the new Interim Chairman to their board of directors, the Offshore Wind Wire news site reported.

Hill said that there is a great opportunity in this moment to transform the way of electricity production and that is through utility scale offshore wind energy.

Barbara Hill replaces Greg Watson, who will remain on the organization’s board.

The USOWC is an interdisciplinary, non-profit organization created to help the United States harness its vast offshore wind resources by providing a forum for information-sharing, problem-solving and capacity-building.

It aims towards realizing the great potential for coastal and Great Lakes wind to contribute to local clean energy production, climate change mitigation and jobs-creation.
