UK: EEEGR Innovation Awards Report

On 29th February John Balch, Managing Director of Nautilus Associates took his familiar role as head judge at East of England Energy Group (EEEGR’s) 9th annual Innovation Awards hosted at the Holiday Inn at Norwich Airport.

The EEEGR Innovation Awards were developed to reveal pioneering and groundbreaking technology innovations to the wider energy supply chain through a series of presentations throughout the day, The presentations took place on the afternoon on the 29th and were attended by around 200 people.

The winners were announced at a Gala Dinner also staged at the Holiday Inn which was attended by 170 people from industry.

The judges and audience votes were combined to select the winning businesses; Select Innovations from London took first place with a range of energy saving commercial lighting products which the company claims could also resolve the problems of towns and cities having to turn off street lights at night to save costs.

Second place was awarded to Oilennium with a hands-on training simulator which teaches the operator to control large rig-based industrial equipment and the low carbon award went to 4NRg of Lowestoft with its Tidal Harvester, a shallow water tidal energy generator.
