Hill+Knowlton Strategies to Amplify RenewableUK Voice

Following a competitive pitch process, Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K) has been appointed as the communications agency for RenewableUK, the leading trade and professional body for the UK wind and marine renewables industries.

The campaign which incorporates media relations, digital campaigning and research will particularly aim to promote the benefits of offshore and onshore wind energy in the UK.

Simon Whitehead, Managing Director of Energy + Industrials at H+K, will lead the account team supported by cross-sector expertise from the Energy + Industrials and Sustainability teams.

He commented: “The opportunity to work with RenewableUK is immensely exciting for Hill+Knowlton Strategies. Our campaign will harness the many positive stories that the wind industry has to tell, particularly as the industry spurs economic growth, creates jobs across the UK and drives part of the rebuilding of the UK’s energy infrastructure. Wind is a key element of the UK’s future energy mix and with significant milestones across the policy agenda coming up over 2012, including the Electricity Market Reform bill, now is the time for the wind industry to reiterate its case.

Jennifer Webber, Director of External Affairs for RenewableUK added: “We are looking forward to working with H+K over this busy period to ensure that the overriding case for wind and the benefits it can bring is fully recognised in the public sphere.”
