Louis Dreyfus in Offshore Wind Talks (France)

Louis Dreyfus Armateurs is in talks with GDF Suez and EDF Energies Nouvelles to join their offshore wind venture, reports Les Echos.

Louis Dreyfus offers two types of benefits for venture members: the transportation of wind turbine parts to the assembly port and installation and maintenance of power cables.

Last year, the French government launched the long-awaited €10m (£8.8m) offshore wind energy tender seeking developers to build projects off the country’s coastlines.

The project calls for 600 offshore wind turbines to be built with a total capacity of 3,000 megawatts.
