EDF,GDF Suez and Iberdrola Led Consortiums to Submit Tenders for Offshore Wind Projects (France)

The three consortiums led by EDF, GDF Suez and Iberdrola will submit their tenders for offshore wind projects to the Commission for Energy Regulation on Wednesday, reports Les Echos.

There is the total of five offshore wind areas. Dong Energy, Alstom, EDF will be bidding for all of them, except for the Tréport. The consortium of GDF Suez, Vinci, Areva and German E. ON will make the offer for three parks in Normandy (Fécamp, Tréport and Courseulles-sur-Mer) and Siemens will forward its offer for Saint-Brieuc for consideration. Iberdrola has focused on the Saint-Nazaire and Saint-Brieuc areas, in partnership with Eole-RES, Neoen Marine, Technip and Areva.

The government wants to make its decision in April, preferably before the first round of presidential elections.
