Gallery: MHI Vestas Turbines Basking Under Dutch Sun

MHI Vestas Offshore Wind has recently posted several photos showing some of its 43 V112-3.0MW turbines installed at the 129MW Eneco Luchterduinen offshore wind farm in the Netherlands.

The wind farm is situated some 23 kilometres off the coast of Zandvoort and Noordwijk and has been in full operation mode since September 2015.

The wind turbines were installed on monopile foundations more than 60 metres long. The offshore wind farm’s first foundation was driven into the seabed in August 2014.

The foundations are uniquely engineered because the monopile and the transition piece were built as a single component in this project, according to Van Oord, the project’s EPC contractor.
