Developed by Guangdong Energy Group, the wind farm will comprise 32 MySE6.45-180 wind turbines by Ming Yang Smart Energy.

Each turbine has a nameplate capacity of 6.45 MW.

Located off the Xuwen County, Zhanjiang Xinliao is expected to power more than 240,000 households with wind energy once commissioned.

”The safe and successful installation of the first MySE6.45-180 at the Zhanjiang Xinliao project is one of the most visible and distinctive milestones, underlining MingYang team’s continuously effort to work with all parties involved to achieve this important milestone,” Ming Yang Smart Energy said.

”After the project is put into operation, it will bring considerable economic and environmental benefits, providing a strong boost for Guangdong Province’s efforts to adjust and optimize its energy structure, as well as contributing to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area’s efforts to construct a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient energy system.”

Zhanjiang Xinliao is being developed by Zhanjiang Wind Power Co, a subsidiary of Guangdong Energy Group.

The wind farm is located off Xinliao town, with the farthest point some 16 kilometers offshore.
